The J-100 AFJROTC Character-in-Leadership Scholarship program offers 100 cadets a comprehensive scholarship package, including full tuition coverage for four years at a partnered university with an AFROTC detachment, a yearly $10,000 housing allowance, book stipends, and monthly cadet stipends. Accepting the scholarship necessitates meeting AFROTC requirements and pursuing an officer commission, emphasizing character, leadership, citizenship, and diversity. It aims to inspire future leaders for the US Air Force and Space Force, welcoming eligible cadets with at least 2 years of JROTC experience. Unit instructors can nominate 1 to 4 cadets based on unit size, and acceptance of the nomination is required to proceed with the application, with declinations allowing instructors to nominate other cadets. This last year we had one successful cadet and in the 2023-2024 school year, we successfully nominated 2 cadets for the scholarship.
The Air Force JROTC Flight Academy is an 8-week summer aviation training program held at various universities across the country, granting students a Private Pilot’s Certification upon completion. It aims to motivate and guide high school students towards careers in aviation. In the 2021-2022 school year, our AFJROTC CA-20005 had 2 successful cadets, followed by 1 successful cadet in the 2022-2023 school year. Currently, the unit has nominated 4 cadets for the 2023-2024 school year.
