Spanish 3 further develops Spanish language acquisition and knowledge of cultures where Spanish is spoken. Instruction will focus on reviewing and learning new grammar concepts while incorporating relevant vocabulary sets. This pairing provides students with opportunities to communicate about increasingly complex and diverse topics. The central topic of study throughout the year will focus on properly conjugating and knowing when to use the two main past tenses in Spanish, the preterite and imperfect. Additional verb tenses will be incorporated in the third trimester.
In order to facilitate language learning and memorization, students will participate in listening, speaking, reading, and writing activities each day in class. Students will need to spend additional study time outside of class to memorize verb meanings and conjugations (with the aid of the student’s verb booklet) and vocabulary.
