Google Chromebooks

How are Chromebooks used?

Collaborative Learning

G-Suite provides students with countless opportunities to work together with teachers and other students live in the same file, providing real time feedback on the progress being made.

Independent Learning

Students are becoming more engaged with our subjects through independent research and access to a host of online content which is extending their learning. Teachers are using Google Classroom to share resources and differentiated work through a virtual learning environment that can be accessed anywhere.

Creative Learning

Chromebooks are allowing students to push the boundaries with their learning as they use a range of Google Apps to express themselves. As their confidence grows in the standard apps, such as Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, other apps are used such as Stop Frame Motion to animate a volcanic eruption.

Home Learning

We believe that the learning should not stop when the student walks out of the school gate. Home access to all of the Google Apps and our RCS Cloud services is allowing students to extend their knowledge outside of school. We constantly see students making improvements to their work during the evenings and weekends.

Safe Learning

By using our Chromebook management system and web filtering you can be confident in the knowing that your child is safe when using the devices in school.

Students will also not be able to access any apps that have not been approved by us when outside of school.

Students are taught how to use the Chromebooks and other devices safely through E-Safety lessons. Through accessing these devices we are ensuring that they are prepared for the future world of technology.
