FAQ’s


  1. Will my student be expected to do school all day long?

NO, the recommended daily guideline is 20-30 minutes of instruction time per class. Students total time should be no more than 3-4 hours per day. Although each class might not follow this exactly, it is a general recommendation.

  1. Can my student work all day and do school at night?

YES, all synchronous meetings that have instruction in them will be recorded. All other work will be asynchronous. Students may need to work out a contact time with teachers outside of the scheduled office hours.


  1. How will my student be graded?

Third quarter grades were posted before COVID 19 and stand. Students will be graded primarily on participation and limited assignments for the fourth quarter. Students must do at least 50% of assignments and participate in some manner twice per week. Any assignment that does not meet the minimum performance level will be returned with feedback for the student to revise and resubmit. Check each teacher's policy for the number of times an assignment can be revised. Fourth quarter scores will be added to the total points from third quarter. If your student is taking a college course, grades will follow that institutions grading protocol. If your student is taking a World Language course or a Credit Recovery course, the course completion and grading requirements will not change.


  1. What does it mean to participate in class?

Participation is defined as any contact with the teacher. This includes submitting an assignment, responding to a class discussion, attending a virtual class meeting, emailing a teacher with a question, and responding to feedback and resubmitting an assignment.


  1. If my student is failing a course, will I be notified?

YES, grades will still be available on the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, and you should consider to receive any notifications you had previously set up.


  1. Can my student fail a course?

YES, if your student received an F for third quarter and then doesn’t participate fourth quarter they will receive an F for the semester.


  1. What should I expect from teachers and staff during remote learning?

Staff wants to ensure that our students continue to receive high-quality lessons and assignments.

  • Generally, lessons and assignments will be posted at the beginning of the week with assignments due at the end of the week.

  • Teachers will be immediately available during office hours from 8:00-12:00 each school day to respond to questions about instructional materials and assignments. This time may also be used for live class meetings and online discussions.

  • We will continue to follow the school calendar for the four-day week.


  1. What should I expect from my student?

  • Students need to log in to each Google Classroom and check their district email account daily.

  • Students will need to participate in classes by checking in with each teacher two times each week and completing weekly assignments as directed. Students should be spending 20-30 minutes each day on each class for a total of 3-4 hours each day.

  • Students will need to contact teachers during office hours with questions and requests for help.


  1. How can I help?

  • Ensure that your student is checking their Gmail account and Google Classroom every day.

  • Check your email and this site regularly for important updates.

  • Encourage your student to participate fully in learning activities and to submit completed assignments in a timely manner.

  • Encourage your student to reach out to their teachers if they have any questions or concerns or need any extra help.

  • Ensure that your contact information (phone numbers and email addresses) is accurate and report any changes to the main office as well as your child’s teacher.

  • Communicate with your student’s teachers and advisor if you have any questions or concerns.
