Coldest Day of the Year

This past February our Grand Council organized a "Coldest Day of the Year" event that included every student and staff member walking outside for one hour to raise awareness of poverty, homelessness, and hunger.

They also hosted a cookie sale and raised $225.50 that they donated to the Mustard Seed, Red Deer, an organization that feeds the hungry including over 400 school lunches every dingle day of the school year for hungry students.

The intention of Grand Council is that the "Coldest Day of the year" event will become an annual one so they can continue to "make a connection" to the community through the Mustard Seed, and also by raising awareness about poverty, homelessness, and hunger, by thinking deeply about those issues themselves, by caring for others, and by better understanding the people we share our community with.
