Physics

To be successful in this course students should have met proficiency in Algebra I and Geometry. This course is designed to provide a clear and straightforward presentation of the basic concepts of physics. The central theme, the interrelationship between matter and energy, applies to all sciences. Major topics in physics will be studied, such as: motion, forces, gravity, energy, states of matter, waves (sound and light), static and current electricity, magnetism, and modern physics (including relativity and quantum mechanics). Mathematical connections and problem solving will be highly emphasized in this course. Students may choose to work towards earning Honors credit, with increased expectations.
