Resurrection Catholic School STREAM Mission Statement
Resurrection is dedicated to empowering students to recognize their full potential and inspire them to dream big—dreams they can achieve. We are committed to helping break the cycle of generational poverty by providing the tools, support, and opportunities for a brighter future.
STREAM Overview: What is STREAM?
STREAM is the integration of the disciplines of Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics. During Makerspace and Technology classes, we incorporate 21st Century learning skills, such as innovation, creativity, respectful and effective communication, collaboration and digital literacy. Resurrection Catholic School students work to become real-world problem solvers with the confidence to take on challenges and persevere in any task that is presented to them.
At RCS, students develop stronger skills through their experiences. Our STREAM program offers an environment where students are not afraid to fail, because mistakes are valuable learning opportunities. Students are encouraged to continue striving, which builds resilience, knowledge, and confidence in them that will carry them into their future.
What is the STREAM Lab/Makerspace?
Resurrection is so excited to have a STREAM Lab/Makerspace of our own, for which we are extremely grateful to the Brown Family Foundation. It is a physical space with flexible furniture, designed for movement and collaboration.
Pre-K through 8th grade visit the STREAM Lab/Makerspace 1-2 times every week.
It is a time for hands-on collaboration focused on questioning and problem solving. There is also a focus on career exploration, as we encourage our students to look through a wide lens to find their potential.
STEM is not a class you teach.
It's a culture you build.
