In 2000, Wilson became the first school in Monroe County and the fourth public high school in New York State authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate program. Wilson offers the IB Diploma Programme for students in grades 11 and 12. The Diploma Program (DP) is a two-year program designed specifically for 11th & 12th graders who desire a more rigorous course of study. It is not for all students. The objectives of the program are to: provide an internationally accepted qualification for entry into higher education; promote international understanding; educate the whole person emphasizing intellectual, personal, emotional and social growth; develop inquiry and thinking skills, and the capacity to reflect upon and evaluate actions critically.
