Ready-to-Teach Program
The English Language Department has organized each quarter to focus on a theme. Quarter 1 focuses on information text, followed by Quarter 2 that focuses on argumentative text after Quarter 3 focuses on argumentative speeches, and the course concludes with Quarter 4 which focuses on narrative text.
RCOE Alt Ed Pathway C curriculum is organized and ready-to-teach through Canvas Learning Management System.
All quarters of Integrated Math 1 are ready to download into your Canvas course.
All quarters of Pathway C are ready to download into your Canvas course.
Each Quarter contains 45 days of planned instructional modules (9 weeks, 5 days a week).
All Canvas lesson components have a label for recommended instructional grouping: Whole Class, Individual, and Small Group.
Priority Standards are grouped into 10-day cycles: a total of 4 cycles within each quarter.
Each 10-day cycle will contain reading comprehension, vocabulary, & language components.
Each day's lesson is organized into a Module system will contain:
Whole class: Projectable Lesson
Whole class: Student Handout to accompany the lesson
Small group: Student Worksheet(s)
or Individual: Performance (Writing) Task

The modules will contain either a Lesson or an Application learning activity.
Lesson: an Educeri Lesson for “first-time teaching*” concepts or skills tied to CCSS ELA/ELD.
Application: Savvas myPerspectives text to apply** the specific CCSS ELA/ELD that was taught.
Educeri lessons focus on reading comprehension (Informational or Literature), Language (Conventions), Vocabulary, or Writing.
An Educeri lesson includes:

*First-time teaching is when a learning objective is being taught or addressed for the first time.
** Example of application: If theme is taught in the lesson, then students would use the Savvas text to practice identifying theme.
The assessment modules will contain a Savvas text assessment that will ensure the skills taught were understood. Students will also be given an option to read one of two texts and answer questions to show comprehension.

Educeri Lessons are accessible in two mediums.
The first medium is a downloadable file for teachers to present in a classroom.
The second medium is a recorded pre-presented lesson on Canvas with each component of the lesson on separate assignments.
The student handouts are accessible in two mediums.
The first medium is a PowerPoint file downloaded as a print consumable.
The second medium is Canvas tasks where students can click on each component and complete each task as instructed.
Learning Objective is a Canvas Assignment, meaning students have to submit a response to complete.
Activate Prior Knowledge is a Canvas "Quiz", meaning students have to answer questions to complete.
Concept Development is a Canvas "Quiz", meaning students have to answer questions to complete.
Skill Development/Guided Practice is a Canvas "Quiz", meaning students have to answer questions to complete.
Summary Closure is a Canvas Discussion, meaning students have to provide commentary to complete.
Relevance is a Canvas Discussion, meaning students have to provide commentary to complete.
Savvas text is set up as Google slides for teachers to present.
The student handouts are Google docs designed for students to submit on Canvas
or to be printed out to be turned in during class.
The module will contain an Educeri lesson for “first-time teaching*” and Savvas text to apply** what was taught.
Savvas text was strategically selected to point out the reading comprehension skill taught.

Categories: For Admin ...... For Teachers ..... For Parents For these sections do we want to build them as a row of Icons or Modules, reference the home page row of icons immediately proceeding the top banner.
We may want to keep Admin and Teacher under one umbrella to keep things simple. We can create sections on each page to help differentiate the categories, this will cause more scrolling but lessen the quantity of portals.
