About today
Student reflection
During our time in Yunnan, us students, teachers, as well as the organisers of this trip were able to experience the beauty of Yunnan together. We were able to learn and see many new things that we probably would not have been able to see if not for this trip.
In Yunnan we were able to learn more about the culture, as well as the people who were living there. An example of this would be what we learnt about the Naxi group that have been inhibiting the mountains for approximately 1000 years. We learnt about their food, their traditions, as well as some of the dances.
I think that many of the experiences that we had in Yunnan were very valuable and unforgettable, we had many fun activities as well such as copper bashing and wood carving. The most unforgettable memory that I am sure many people would agree on was the tiger leaping gorge hike that we all went through and gave our best effort. Throughout the hike, many people struggled, complained, and probably felt like giving up, but in the end everyone made it which is why this should be considered a great accomplishment for all of us.
Overall all of us had a really great time in Yunnan and honestly, time went by really quick during that week. I’m sure that many of us would be willing to go back to experience it all again and some of us might even be sad that it has ended. This has been a great, well planned out and organised trip and all of us are grateful that we were able to be part of it. We thank the organisers of the trip for making this trip safe and fun, as well as each other as we are the reasons this trip was what it is.
