The Vocal Major at the Visual and Performing Arts Academy offers a four-year program focused on developing vocal technique and artistic expression. Students study a wide range of repertoire—from musical theatre to classical works in multiple languages—while building stylistic versatility.
Through ensemble-based classes and individualized coaching, students strengthen vocal technique, refine repertoire, and deepen interpretive skills alongside advancing studies in music theory. In a supportive, collaborative environment, students gain performance experience and develop the musicianship and confidence needed for collegiate study and continued artistic growth.

"I have learned much more in music theory and vocal than in any other class. I’ve enjoyed the class trips to New York, and the coaching and advice I’ve gotten from Mr. Krajcik and my peers." - EC '29
"This is my third year in the vocal academy and here I have found a space to grow, learn, and thrive amongst my peers. Our warm-up provide crucial instruction time accompanied by our individual coaching. Mr. Krajcik has created a nurturing environment for his students, where I feel I have grown both vocally and as in individual." - HL '27
"My experience in the VPA program has been incredible. Between ambitious peers that inspire me and teachers that push me to be my best, my improvement has been immediate and vast. In vocal, not only have I learned how to improve my technique when singing, but also how to read music, which is an imperative skill for perusing music in college." - MN '28
