The Piano Major at Red Bank Regional’s Visual and Performing Arts Academy offers dedicated pianists intensive training in performance and musicianship. Students study diverse repertoire from Baroque to contemporary styles while developing technical skill, musical expression, and stylistic understanding.
Through individualized coaching and studio instruction, students build core keyboard skills such as scales, arpeggios, and sight-reading, while exploring the historical context of the music they perform. Combined with advanced coursework in theory and musicianship, the program prepares students for collegiate study and supports lifelong artistic growth.
"I've really enjoyed my time as a piano major in the VPA. Looking back on my freshman year, I've learned so much about piano and music in general. One thing I love about the VPA is that I learned about many different styles and eras. I also really loved getting to know people in all different majors." - SP '26
