Idhaant Kode

10 picture story challenge

The Big Pot

It was a bright Sunday morning in the Kode's home. Idhaant wanted pasta for breakfast. His mother suggested ; that they make it together. Idhaant challenged that he will make it alone. He put on his master chef hat and apron and told his mother to stay in the bedroom. Suddenly a pan came out of the drawer and it automatically sat on the gas stove. Out came the cheese and the milk from the fridge. Idhaant's kitchen suddenly had become magical, and he could not believe his eyes.

The big pot started boiling water; and Idhaant could hear him talking. He was calling out for Packet Pasta. "Come pour yourself in my hot water!" said Mr. Boiling Pot. Mrs. Pan then invited some butter, flour and started stirring it rapidly. Idhaant stood his eyes wide open within seconds the white sauce was ready and Idhaant's magical pasta was ready. Idhaant just could not understand what had happened in his kitchen. How did everything turn magical suddenly? He realised that his Apron was a new one and he had never worn it before in the kitchen. Could it be a magical apron? How should he find out?

He slowly removed the apron and started observing the changes in the kitchen. He looked from the corner of his eye at Mr. Boiling Pot. The pot had stopped moving and talking. Same was the case with Mrs. Pan. She was sitting where she was without any movement. Idhaant was shocked. How did this Apron turn magical. He tried thinking about how he got this apron.

This Apron was a gift from his grandmother for his 10th birthday. Could his Grandmom have magical powers? How could she make the Apron magical? Idhaant's head was full of questions. He rushed to talk to his mother. But would she believe him? He decided to show his mother the power of the apron. He hurried into the bedroom and told his mother excitedly to come to the kitchen. " Look Mom; my pasta is ready and I didn't even make it! " His mother was shocked and thought that Idhaant was joking. "how is this possible Idhaant? Are you still watching too many cartoons?" Idhaant threw up his hands in frustration as he tried to convince his mother that the apron was magical for real. He said ; let's try making another dish wearing this apron. This time he wanted to try making a Pizza. He put on the magical apron and suddenly the kitchen began to do things on its own. Out came the flour, cheese, spices, water and the pizza was in the making in no time inside the oven.

Both Idhaant and his mother excitedly called up his Grandmom on her phone to find out the mystery of the Magical Apron. Idhaant couldn't wait to tell his friends about the super power that his apron had. He decided to do a video call and show her the powers of his apron. His Grandmother just stood there and smiled and said; that this apron was given to her by her grandmom and was meant to be passed on to Idhaant. However; this was a family secret only. The moment anyone outside of the family comes to know about this apron; the apron would lose its magical powers. Idhaant was so upset. He was already looking forward to show off his magical Apron to his friends.

His mother then told him; " Isn't it great that this apron will help you cook yummy food for your best friends? Why do you want to tell them about its magic; when all the magic will go away the moment you tell them? " Idhaant then realised how lucky he was to be a part of this family secret and promised that he would never talk to his friends about it. He was happy just cooking some yummy food and inviting his friends over.
