As the fall season approaches, so comes the fall dance. I'm sure you have already heard about the dance through announcements and gossip, but do you know all the details. No, this article will be talking all about the fall dance to come and how the dance has come to be an event in our school.
Line Dancing at Fall Dance with Principal
This years theme for this seasons dance will be glow theme. The cafeteria will be selling glow sticks, necklaces, and bracelets throughout the two hours and thirty minutes (2:30-5 pm). During this time there will be a DJ in the main gym playing music for dancing and fun. As well as glow stuff, pizza, beach balls, candy, and drinks will be sold during the night as well. The tickets are $7 at the door when you go in, or they are $6 if you get them presalled and don't have to wait in the line. The cost for attending and for stuff bought in the cafeteria goes directly back to our school to support teachers and students through the EJHS PTO. The date of the dance will be October 20th, the day before pumpkinfest.Ā
For the 6th graders, this may be a new experience for them, but for 7th and 8th graders it is their second dance at EJHS. Last year after gaining permission from Mr. Seiglein and Mr. Pogue, the 2022 student council added a school dance to the list of events they plan every year. After many meetings, the 8th grade council members planned the spring barn dance. It was a very exciting topic in the school because there hadn't been a dance in the school before. On February 10th the barn dance took place right after school. It was super fun and everyone loved having it. Avigail Grile says, "I am so excited to plan the dance this year and excited for the new opportunity."
This year the committee has added one dance. It was a very quick decision and student council only has a month to plan it. So far they have started to work out the cost and get decorations ordered. Avigail Grile says, "I am so excited to plan the dance this year and excited for the new opportunity." The PTO is supplying beach balls, grills, glow sticks, etc. On the committee is Margaret McCormack, Greta Vagedes, Bennett Bell, Aubree Lilley, Brooklynn Wilson, Caitlyn Bayne, Charlotte Hale, Emma Warner, Hudson Scholl, Izabella Gallagher, Kierston Walker, Lynlee Crouch, and Payton Connelly.
Fun with friends during Barn Dance eating pizza
This October's dance will be super fun. Glow sticks are going to be lighting up the gym, pizza will be eaten, and fun memories will be made. Can't wait to see you there!
