Day 4
Sunday August 1st
Sunday August 1st
We thought the overnight rain was going to put people off today, but, just as we had set everything up our young archaeologists started to arrive. In dribs and drabs they put on gloves, picked up a trowel, grabbed a kneeler and were set to work alongside Joan in pit A, or John going ever deeper in pit B.
Down in Pit B some large stones started to stick out from the sides and were uncovered at the bottom of the pit. What could they mean?
Also found.....what's this? A badge? With wings and.... what's that in the centre?
What is thought to be a Victorian key was found by Alan while metal detecting at the museum.
Is it bigger or smaller than a modern day key?
What would it open- a door, a box or something else?
WHAT YOU SAID.....
My children had a brilliant time searching for treasure and amazed by what they have found. Thank you for a fun and educational visit.
