Dig Day 3 ......and the weather was glorious. We welcomed 10 children plus an 'assortment' of big kids ( aka parents and grandparents) who just couldn't resist picking up a trowel as soon as their child put it down on the ground - we spotted you!!
And the prize for travelling the furthest to take part in our dig goes to Sophia - who was first to arrive and who stayed and worked hard all afternoon.
The top level removed and down to another layer in one of the pits and we could see some large rocks, stones, bricks.
What could they be?
A close up of one of the many small rocks found in the pits. Grey in colour and very light, with a bubble like effect......again what are these rocks?
On the field, Alan was still busy with the metal. detector.....we will catch up with him one day!
