There are two ways for students to remediate credits needed to earn their Western Sierra high school diploma.
The method available will will depend on the situation and course.
Credit recovery is for high school students only.
Summer Session
Clear a current 2nd Semester Core Course
Method:
Summer Session
In Person at WSCA
Instructed by WSCA teachers
Eligiblity:
Only for students currently in specific eligible core courses.
Student must be within 1-2 Beta assessments away from passing the class to clear their grade.
Students will be identified and recommended for Summer Session by their teacher towards the end of May, depending on academic progress at that time.
Dates:
Refer to the ParentSquare announcement, typically sent out the first week of May.
Typically begins the first Tuesday after graduation. Students will haave approximatelt 2-3 weeks to clear their incomplete(s), can finish as soon as grades are cleared.
Students must be in attendance the first day of summer session.
Times: Typically 8:30 to 11:30 am
All Other Credit Recovery
All other high school students needing to recover credits towards graduation
will need to make an appointment with your counselor to discuss options, make a plan, and approve courses.
Method:
Must be completed with through an accredited high school or college.
The course must be an equivalent UC A-G approved high school course or a UC transferable college course.
