Meet the Teacher

Hello! I am elated to introduce myself and the RCES Ignite Class. I am Dr. Kandi Fisher, the teacher/facilitator for this resource class. The 2025/26 year is my sixteenth year of teaching, with this being my eighth year at RCES. I have previously taught 8th-grade Mathematics, 9th-grade Algebra, 5th-grade ELA/SS, and most recently, 6th-grade ELA and SS. In the summer of 2024, I defended my doctoral dissertation, grounded in research on integrating engineering and children's texts, to earn the title Dr. Fisher. I am looking forward to a fabulous year!
