Dual Enrollment/CPCC

Taking CPCC classes this summer?  The form for Summer 2023 will be available in February.  Check back then or email Mrs Ubriaco

What Is Dual Enrollment?

Dual Enrollment is a partnership between QGHS and Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC).  Juniors and Seniors with an unweighted GPA of 2.8 or higher are invited to participate.  The program allows students to take college level courses while earning credit for both high school and college.  Each class taken through dual enrollment is free for students, however each students family will be responsible for paying all student fees.  Students may begin taking classes in the fall of their Junior year and continue through the summer after graduation.

Why Should I Do Dual Enrollment?

There are many advantages to dual enrollment:

*Check with individual colleges/universities as to whether or not they will accept transferred credits, especially out of state and private institutions

If you meet the requirements for dual enrollment and receive the invitation from QGHS to participate, the first step is to fill out the google form officially applying to CPCC as a DE student.  The link to the right will take you to the College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC) site where you will make an account and then fill out the CPCC College and Career Promise application.

Once you receive your Central Piedmont Student ID, fill out the Pathway Approval form with your parent/guardian signature and turn in to Mrs Ubriaco

To see what classes are on the Science and Arts Pathway form, click the appropriate button to the right.  To see all the pathways available, click below and scroll to Program Options

You will then go through orientation with CPCC (lately this has been virtual) and then you will get an email letting you know you're ready to start registering for classes
