Qridi Core's Own Materials serves as a place to build assessment, goals and quiz templates. You can organise them in folders and either have them visible only for yourself or for the whole school.
NOTE: Assessments, Goals, Assessment Train, Journals and Quizzes are not an integrated part of the Qridi Core product. They work as stand-alone features that are available to Qridi Core users. The data accumulated in these features cannot be viewed in Qridi Core's 'Reflection section'.
Assessment Unit Management
Assessments in Qridi Core are always based on assessment units.
You can manage assessment units in the Own materials. You can create new assessment units or copy ready-made assessment units for editing or use without modification.
Assessment units are goals and other aspects that are being evaluated.
The Assessments feature is designed for formative assessment. Each target is assessed continuously from different perspectives (self-, peer, group, teacher- and parent assessments) over time. Resulting trends in learning can be viewed as line graphs or spider diagrams in the 'Reports'.
Create an assessment category
Create a new assessment category
Name the assessment category (heading for the category, which can include one or more assessment units). For example, ‘Behaviour’ can be a name for an assessment category.
Select whether or not the assessment category is shown to other users.
The assessment can be kept private or shared with other Qridi Core users by clicking the switch to the green position.
Add one or more assessment units to the assessment category.
An assessment unit can be ‘Finding and using information’, for example.
Select the assessment scale from the drop-down menu.
There are several options: various numerical scales (1–3, 1–5, etc.), emoticons, a slider, text options, etc.
You can also enter descriptions for the selected alternatives. The descriptions are shown to the learners when they are answering the assessment questionnaire; they help the learners understand what the points on the scale mean.
From the image bank, you can add parrot images to the assessment unit to illustrate various situations. This is common for younger learners in particular.
You can link an assessment unit to one or more extensive expertise skill. When using assessment units with linkages, Qridi Core will display the class-specific assessment data for each group and learner also in relation to extensive expertise (for example, a learner’s average self assessment for assessment units linked to skill L1).
Click the Preview button to see how responding to the assessment looks from the perspective of the learner.
You have now created your first assessment unit! You can add more assessment units to category or click ‘Save’.
Note! It is a good idea to ensure that, alongside self assessment, the assessment unit can be used for peer and teacher assessment as well (e.g. ‘Finding and using information’ vs. ‘I know how to find and use information’).
Editing and removing assessment units
You can view, copy, edit or remove assessment templates by clicking each symbol at the position of the assessment category in the Library.
Using Ready-made Assessment Units
The ready-made assessment units can be found on the Recommended and Qridi Core users tabs.
You can browse the list or use the Find field to search for assessment categories relating to a specific theme (group work, physical activity, etc.).
To view the assessment categories, click the eye icon.
You can copy assessment categories to the Own section with the copy button (green button on the right).
Assessment categories copied to the Own section are available to you when creating a new assessment.
You can freely edit or delete copied assessment categories. Any changes you make will not affect the assessment category that you originally copied.
Administrative teachers can also copy assessment categories to the School’s tab. The assessment categories on the School’s tab are available to all of the school’s teacher, but only administrative teachers can edit them.
