My name is Ms. Davis and I will be your Grade Level Leader for the 2021-2022 school year. I had the pleasure of overseeing you as grade 7 students, so I am happy to be moving forward with you this school year.
I am originally from a very small town in the United States called York, South Carolina. I have also lived in North Carolina, Maryland and Arizona. Qatar was my first opportunity to teach abroad and I am entering my 4th year here with my husband Leslie. Over my 17 year career, I have been an Assistant Principal, Athletic Director, Qatar History, Cultural Studies and Student Leadership instructor. Anything you can think of in a school I have done it from nursing sick children, to helping the janitor or referring high school volleyball.
I really enjoy participating in 5k's, bike riding, tennis, volleyball. Travel, cooking and writing about my experiences is my passion.
I know that the educational setting has been unstable since March 2020, however it is my duty to help you navigate the waters. I saw a quote this week, "A river cuts through rock not because of its power, but because of its persistence." I hope that during this school year, you will be persistent in your academic endeavors.
Also, one my favorite Ted Talks is by Rita Pierson- Every Kid Needs a Champion. Relationships are key. Teaching and learning brings joy. This message really inspires how view and conduct myself as I am from a family of educators.
