Please utilize the information on this page to support you in developing a deeeper understanding of the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and information about your first teaching unit at QAD.
PYP is the IB program for Primary school (3 - 12 years of age). The PYP transdisciplinary framework focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both at school and beyond. Informed by research into how students learn, how educators teach, and the principles and practice of effective assessment, the programme places a powerful emphasis on inquiry-based learning. (IBO)
Qatar Academy Doha has been a PYP school for over 15 years. We were featured on the IB website's "Learning and Teaching section."

In every part of our school life, we wish for students to demonstrate the ten profile traits.
We want students to develop certain skills through each unit under five transferable domains. These skills will remain with our students for life as we prepare them for an unknown future.
Knowledge should inherently lead to action. We want to give our students opportunities to showcase their knowledge because we believe that no knowledge is complete or meaningful without appropriate action.
