CAASPP Testing Rewards
We know state testing can be draining and hard for kids, so we have tried to make the experience supportive and fun for them.
First, Mrs. Carmona pushed into each classroom to read a book called The Anti-Test Anxiety Society. Based in growth mindset and positive thinking, the book gave great test taking skills and helped students see that testing is a part of life, so how we look at each test is what matters more than how we do on those tests.
Next, teachers are giving Woodsboro Way cards to all scholars who are using their scratch paper and/or markup tools in the system and a raffle ticket each day to each scholar who is here on time for testing. Teachers pull two winners each Friday to get a prize!

Civic Learning Pathways
Congratulations to some of our 5th graders! Students in Mrs. Livergood's and Mrs. Snow's classes earned their Civic Learning Pathways certificate. The purpose of the Civic Learning Pathway program is to encourage elementary and middle educators to construct opportunities for students that lead to the development of civics skills and dispositions, as well as content aligned with the State Seal of Civic Engagement.
Students demonstrate knowledge of economics, geography, and history, as well as the principles and foundations of our American democracy (SSCE 1, 2).
Students demonstrate civic dispositions and traits (SSCE 4, 5).
Students demonstrate an ability to solve public problems by participating in civic and democratic processes (SSCE 2, 3, 4, 5).

SILENT AUCTION DONATIONS NEEDED
We need your help! Our Silent Auction will occur at Fun Day on June 7, 2024. The money raised supports critical needs at Woodsboro such as field trips, reading programs, library books, historical Walk Through programs, supplies for teachers and students, and more!
If you have access to season tickets, own a small business, or provide services like massage therapy, hair styling, etc., we invite you to contribute to our silent auction. Your generous donations will not only support our cause but also showcase the incredible talents within our community.
Your support means the world to us and helps create unforgettable experiences for everyone involved. Here are some additional ideas for silent auction donations.
