Distance Learning Substitute Plan:

  1. Access attendance lists, Google Meet schedule, and sub plans in your PVUSD email account (sent by the site's office manager)

  2. Confirm you have access to all the necessary Google Classrooms for the day (you will be added as a co-teacher in the Google Classrooms by a site administrator)

  3. Host the scheduled Google Meet sessions, making sure to record the Google Meet and take attendance

  4. Send the attendance record to the Office Manager, and share the Google Meet recordings with the site's administrator and classroom teacher

Google Meet:

Substitutes will need to use Google Meet to provide live, online instruction to students. All Google Meets with students should be recorded. and the recordings should be shared with the classroom teacher and site administrators.

Extensions for Google Meet

  1. Use the Grid View extension to see all your students at once.


  1. Allow your students to raise their hands and react with emojis by using the Nod- Reactions for Google Meet extension.


  1. The Google Meet Attendance extension automatically takes attendance for you during a Meet, and allows you to save the attendance list to your computer by date.

Attendance Procedures:

Substitutes are required to take attendance during their Google Meet sessions with students. This video shows how to take attendance using the attendance extension and how to save the attendance list. The saved list should be sent to the site office manager by the end of the day.
