Homework Policy
Late Work - Part of my role as your child's teacher is to help them develop good work ethic, responsibility, and communication skills. If your child, for whatever reason, cannot complete their classwork or homework when it is due, I will encourage them to have a discussion with you and me about why they were unable to complete their assignment. I will use this as a teaching opportunity to stress the importance of meeting deadlines, turning in quality work, and the value of communication. Please feel free to have your child write me a note if he /she is having a tough time completing his/her homework, or if they ran short on time. Please sign their note.
I am reasonable but do expect students to turn in missing assignments.
Homework: Each student should read 20-30 minutes each night in addition to their assigned homework. When homework is assigned please don't let your child spend more than 40 minutes practicing/completing their assignment. I respect family time and feel quality time spent together is invaluable. If your child cannot complete something because they don't understand or it is unclear, please put a note on the paper, skip it and complete the rest. If it's math, have them watch the math homework help video . You may also email me at dford@pvsdcamarillo.org to let me know that your child had a difficult time with the assignment.
