About Mr. Ford

Hi! My name is Dave Ford or Mr. Ford for short.

It seems like a lifetime ago I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Art & Design from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.  I have since gone on to pursue a career in Graphic Design, own my own business, and finally I felt a need to positively contribute to society! I went back to school in 2012 and received my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California State University at Channel Islands. I was fortunate to be hired directly out of the program and began working as a full time teacher at Rancho Rosal Elementary School in the Pleasant Valley School District. I then had the privilege to join the La Mariposa Elementary School family where I taught 4th grade for 4 years. Enter COVID and I was given the opportunity to be a 4th grade teacher for the PVSD Digital Learning Academy. Last year I continued my 4th grade teaching career at Dos Caminos Elementary School.

My path has now brought me home to La Mariposa Elementary School. I am extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the La Mariposa Family!

I currently live in beautiful Camarillo with my wife Olivia (who is also a teacher) and our 14 year old child Dorian. Outside of school I enjoy anything relating to nature and the outdoors. My passions are my family, surfing, art, nature, and education.

I look forward to meeting my new 4th grade students and their families as we begin an exciting new school year!!!
