ReadWorks- News Debate: Cell Phone Scramble

Saying that people agree on what rules for phones in school should be is like saying that traffic signs are suggestions, it's only true for some people. On the one hand, schools ban phones because they can distract students during classes, they also let students cheat a lot easier and drama can spark a lot more subtly. On the other hand, phones give students the ability to stay in touch with their parents, and if they are managed properly they can help students learn and study.

FORTNITE OG UPDATE

Fortnite is such a huge game right now, and there are plenty of reasons why it’s become so popular. The gameplay in Fornite is super engaging. You drop into an expansive map with up to 100 players, and the goal is to be the last one standing. What makes it unique is that you can build structures on the fly. This adds a whole new layer of strategy since you can create walls, ramps, and forts to defend yourself or get the high ground on opponents. The combination of shooting and building keeps every match fresh and exciting. Epic Games constantly refreshes the game with new content, like limited-time modes, collaborations with popular franchises, and seasonal events. These keep players coming back to see what’s new. Fortnite has built a robust online community where players can connect and share their experiences. Fornite is free to play, which is a huge factor in its popularity. You can download and jump into the action without spending a dime, and while there are in-game purchases for skins and season passes, you can still enjoy the game without ever paying. This accessibility has attracted millions of players worldwide. Overall, Fortnite is more than just a game it’s a community, an ever-evolving platform for entertainment, and a place where players can express themselves. Whether you’re a casual player or a seasoned pro, there's something in Fortnite for everyone to enjoy!

Upcoming movies

There are a couple of interesting movies coming into the movies. One movie that is in fact coming out on December 20th, this movie will be the third one of the series and coming from the last movie. I feel this one will be the best out of the 2 so far. The summary is Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails reunite to battle Shadow, a mysterious new enemy with powers unlike anything they've faced before. With their abilities outmatched in every way, they seek out an unlikely alliance to stop Shadow and protect the planet. Another movie coming on April 5th is the Minecraft movie, a movie already receiving hate but from reading the summary, I think it won't be as bad as it seems. A mysterious portal pulls four misfits into the Overworld, a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home, they'll have to master the terrain while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected crafter named Steve. Steve is a human who always wanted to be a miner but child labor laws stopped him. Later in his life he becomes a miner and discovered the world of Minecraft. All in all, as a team we are really excited to see these up-and-coming movies.

New Tech

Technology today is evolving at a rapid pace, enabling faster change and progress, causing lots of change. However, it is not only technology trends and emerging technologies that are evolving, a lot more has changed like VR and more tech. All this need tech could be helping the world or making it worse.

New Scam

There is a new scam. This scam is usually based out of Africa. To start the scam the scammers first post ads on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, and/or eBay. The ads usually go something like, "Ps5 for free," in the headline and the description is usually something like, "My son died recently of a brain tumor. He left his PS5 behind and it is just sitting at my home doing nothing. Every time I look at his Ps5 it reminds me of him. It just hurts way too much and I can't take it anymore, hopefully, someone would like to take it off my hands for free. If you are interested text me at ... [phone number] on Whatsapp." Then when you converse with the scammer after you tell them you are interested the scammer asks for your address to ship you the Ps5. After you give the scammer the address they will tell you that there is a problem and your area does not support free shipping. So then, the scammer will then ask you for $5 to pay for the shipping and after you pay for the 'shipping' the scammer will block and ghost you never to talk to you again. This may seem like an easy scam to realize now that you know how the scam works, but there have been quite of few victims of this scam. At the end of the everyone just make sure your safe and try to avoid scams like these. I good trick to over scams on the internet is if something seems too good to be true it usually is, and nothing is free. So if you see anything or anyone offering either something too good to be true or free it is mostly a scam so just ignore it.

SOMETIMES OUR TECH FAILS LIKE THE LAUNCH OF THE SPACE X FAILURE ON APRIL 14

SpaceX has had its share of rocket failures, and there are a few reasons why this happens. Even though they’ve had a lot of success, sometimes things just don’t go right. Building rockets is really complicated. There are so many different parts that all need to work perfectly together. If something small goes wrong, it can turn into a big issue when the rocket is soaring through space where everything is way more intense. SpaceX likes to move quickly when they’re testing new stuff. This means that failing sometimes is just part of the process for them. They see these failures as learning opportunities. When something doesn’t work during a test, they dig into what went wrong to fix it for next time.They’re all about moving fast to come up with new rockets and tech. Sometimes this means they might skip some important checks or not have enough time to ensure everything is perfect. While this can lead to challenges during launches, it also helps them innovate more quickly than traditional aerospace companies. The weather can be super unpredictable, which is a real challenge when they’re trying to launch rockets. Things like strong winds or storms can pop up and cause problems, even if everything else is good to go. SpaceX does its best to plan launches for nice days, but surprises can still happen.
