The 56th Street Players Comedy Club is our award-winning improv team at Horizon High School. The teams consist of 12 talented team members who are proficient in Improv. The group rehearses every Wednesday after school and performs on specific Friday evenings.

WHAT IS IMPROV?

Improv is a different form of theatre. The characters and dialogue of a game, scene, or story get made up at the moment. Improv is created spontaneously and promotes imagination!

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?

The team hosts auditions at the beginning of the school year. The team traditionally hosts a workshop on the second Wednesday of every August to teach everyone the games you will see at auditions and show what it is like to be on the team. Then the team will have auditions on the third Wednesday of August after school in G-104 (The drama room).

THE 13TH MEMBERS

The 13th Members are the technical crew that helps out before, during, and after the shows! This wonderful group of people helps out with tickets, lighting, sound, organization, and more! Applications to become a 13th Member open at the beginning of the school year and stay open until the first week of September.
