Horizon High school Drama PROGRAM

THE 56th Street players

Welcome!

Welcome to Horizon High School's theatre department! Our outstanding student-lead department is full of talent, with students who strive to create meaningful and impactful art for our community. Our theatre department produces two main stage productions a year that includes a fall play and a spring musical

Our students also create a variety of projects and activities throughout the year for the community to enjoy. These annual events include, but are not limited to: our Haunted House and in class showcases held in the fall; Senior Show, 56 Below, and Senior Dream Roles in the spring; and of course our Brown Bag and Comedy Club Performances held throughout the school year

With that said, there is always something happening in our program- so if this excites you, join us!

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

The Horizon High School theatre program cherishes and celebrates the creative abilities of every student. Our department teaches students valuable life skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, collaboration, and self-expression. Encouraging vulnerability in a safe atmosphere while training the next generation of theatrical artists, technicians, and performers. This department sparks curiosity and adds fundamentals needed for our future actors, technicians, designers, and writers. Making an impact with hands-on learning, designed in a supportive environment for each individual to grow and flourish.

OUR VISION

Creating  an educational and adaptable experience for our huskies and the community while applying a proficient level of education in theatre. Whether on stage or in the classroom, our program welcomes everyone as it is a safe and supportive environment for creativity.
