Costume crew's purpose is to provide the actors with fitting costumes that help build the aesthetic of each character. Costumes for each show differ, for example, some might be humans and some might be animals. Either way, the goal of costume crew is to create a costume that accurately represents the character. They use a variety of techniques from sewing to hot gluing and many different materials to create each costume. Sometimes we repurpose old outfits. The costume crew for Charlotte's Web did all that. The way we had to put together this show has been very different from the ones we've done in the past, but despite the challenges, we still created costumes like we would've for any other show. We recycled many costumes from the costume closet that have been seen in past shows, for example Fern's plaid dress. In addition to which, we had a lot of the actors bring in things they already had. Other pieces were made with hot glue or were hand stitched, such as the farm animals' ear headbands which used both. One of the more noticeable pieces that were handmade are the spider legs. Each leg was cut, sewn, and stuffed to make it so the characters had the correct number of legs to show they were spiders. In a show with such differing characters like Charlotte's Web, the costumes help bring together the look of an individual character as a whole as well as bring them to life.
