This is my 22nd year of teaching and I truly have a passion for teaching elementary children. I think being a teacher is the greatest job in the world. I am deeply committed to my students and I try to know as much possible about them so that I may recognize their individual differences and adjust my instruction to meet their needs accordingly. I understand how students develop and learn and I use a variety of best practices to help my students achieve and surpass goals. I take great care into the cognitive development of my students and I help them learn how to advocate for themselves in academic as well as social settings. Furthermore, I am constantly reflecting on my own teaching and I utilize opportunities to grow in my practice so that I may benefit the students I teach.

I am a native Arizonian
I live with my husband, Dan, and our 9 year old son, Ari
I have a cat named Dolce that I rescued when she was a kitten 15 years ago
I love movies
I love all kinds of music, but 90's alternative rock is my favorite (note: my students have made me a bona fide Swifty and I am not even mad about it)
I love to read, but as a kid I hated it. I thought it was torture. Math was my favorite subject in school and I didn't start to enjoy reading until I was in college.
I have been in the Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere at the same time
I swam in the Pacific Ocean with sea lions, turtles, and sharks
My second grade teacher was the first teacher who inspired me to go into education. She would always let me take extra copies of the assignments so that I could play "school" at home.
