Graduation Requirements
Students must meet course and testing requirements to receive a Regents diploma or a Regents diploma with an Advanced Designation. Students must successfully complete the following minimum requirements:
Regents Diploma
English - 4 Credits
ELA (Common Core)
Social Studies - 4 Credits
Global History & Geography Regents
US History & Govt. Regents
Math - 3 Credits
One Math Regents Examination:
Algebra or Algebra (Common Core)
Geometry or Geometry (Common Core)
Algebra II/Trig or Algebra II (Common Core)
Science - 3 Credits
One Science Regents Examination:
Living Environment
Chemistry
Earth Science
Physics
LOTE (Languages other than English) - 1 Credit
Art or Music - 1 Credit
Health - 1/2 Credit
Physical Education (All 4 years) - 2 Credits
Electives - 3.5 Credits
Total: 22 Credits
Regents Diploma with an Advanced Designation
English - 4 Credits

All 3 Math Regents Examinations:

A student may be awarded a Regents diploma with Honors or a Regents diploma with Advanced Designation with Honors by achieving an average of 90 percent on all Regents examinations required for the diploma.
Under the new “4+1” pathway assessment option, students must take and pass four required Regents Exams or Department-approved alternative assessments (one in each of the following subjects: English, math, science, and social studies) and a comparably rigorous assessment for the fifth required exam to graduate.
