What is NYSSMA?

All students performing a NYSSMA solo MUST do a SIGHT READING COMPONENT. PV students have access to Sight Reading First (SRF) under Music First. Students should practice sight reading every time you play your instrument. Select the level of NYSSMA solo that you are performing and SRF does the rest. 

ALL NYSSMA solos are selected from the official NYSSMA Manual. Your teacher has a copy of this manual. Please make sure that your selected solo is in the current manual and that you are ordering the correct edition of solo. You will NEED TWO ORIGINAL COPIES of your solo. A student is NOT permitted to perform using a photocopy. If your piece has an accompaniment (piano part) this part can serve as your second copy (for the judge). If your piece is unaccompanied, then you will need 2 Copies.
