Intonation Charts
Intonation charting can be a useful tool in identifying pitch "issues" on your instrument. Steps to take:
Print out a chart below (your instrument).
Get a TUNER ready, calibrate it and find a partner to help you.
Warm-Up and make sure your instrument is working well.
Teach your partner how to use a tuner and assess HERTZ values.
Go through each note on your instrument slowly and have your partner document the + or - of Hertz values for each note. If you are perfectly in-tune and "0" can be notated. You may notice that as you stretch your range (hi and low) the pitch will be harder to center.
When you are done, this chart can show you what notes are most out of tune on your instrument. Basically a plus or minus 5-10 cents is not too much of a problem. Anything greater than 10 starts to become very noticeable.
