Season Two of “Cyberpunk” has officially released!

Famous anime “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners” is originally known for its emotional storytelling created by CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger. It officially released season two on Oct. 20, 2026. Following a new cast of “Edgerunners.” The show is based on the “Best Ongoing Game,” Cyberpunk 2077.
Season one aired on Netflix in 2022; it left fans yearning for more. PMHS freshman Riley Baker stated, “Season one was spectacular. It was amazing, one of the biggest pieces of beautiful media out there.” Fans state that season two is just as good as the first and “100%” worth the wait, said by PMHS sophomore Emmanuel Adeleke.
Fans debate the original soundtrack, with many mixed feelings about the music that's meant to capture the atmosphere of Night City in the show. From songs from many indie artists like Piernikowski, BIJI, DOUDOU, and more. The show faced a huge change from emotional music to a more “Upbeat” and “more happy” sound than season one’s standards, as stated by Adeleke. Even songs played awkwardly at scenes in the show. PMHS Junior William Murray states, “The parts of the music that they played, when they played it, it was like, it just didn’t really fit a lot of the times…”
Fans also debate a third season; many would love there to be one, but many state that season two is a good stopping point for the show. Adeleke says, “I would really like there to be a season three,” while Baker thinks, “Definitely not.”

American thrash metal band Megadeth announces their retirement and farewell tour

On Aug. 14, 2025 American thrash metal band Megadeth announced their retirement and in 2026 they started off their farewell tour spanning three to five years.
With the 40 plus years Megadeth has been a metal band they finally announce that they are retiring. They’ve released such iconic songs like “Symphony of Destruction,”, “Hangar 18, ” “Tornado of Souls,” and “Holy Wars…the Punishment Due.”
“Holy Wars…The Punishment Due” was directed towards the amount of religious sectarianism and political fanaticism that was going on in the ‘80s because The Satanic Panic was getting so bad they had to create the song.
The band originated in 1983 under frontman David Scott Mustaine after he got kicked out of Metallica in April of 1983. The original line up of Megadeth was Mustaine on rhythm guitar and vocals, Matt Kisselstein on bass guitar, Robbie McKinney on lead guitar, and Dijon Carruthers on drums.
Peacock released “Friday the 13th” prequel: “Crystal Lake”

With the Halloween season approaching, Peacock released a prequel series to the iconic “Friday the 13th” franchise called “Crystal Lake.”
This past Thursday, Oct. 15, all eight episodes of the prequel premiered. The series stars Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees and Callum Vison as Jason Voorhees.
Many fans of the original franchise are very excited about this new series and think it will be interesting to hear about the origin behind these characters.
Freshman Zulay Ramos shared her excitement about the new series. “I am really excited because I really like the movies before this series, and I think that it's gonna just be really eventful. I think that it would be good to understand the characters to see how they act.”
Science teacher Mrs. DeLaney gave her thoughts on getting to see the origin story behind Jason Voorhees. “They got a little wacky with actual movies, like he’s in space, he’s in New York, he’s in like all these weird places. So it would be cool to go back to that original place, Camp Crystal Lake.”
Many horror fans are thrilled about this new series to add to their Halloween watchlist this spooky season.
The downfall of “Other Mommy”

Despite making $27.5 million and opening at #1, “Other Mommy” was socially hated.
It was reviewed as the “worst horror movie made this year,” according to Forbes.
It was released to theatres on Oct. 9 directed by Rob Salvage, who promised it would be packed with 50 jump scares. But when it came out, the audience felt that it was very flat and bland, and that it rushed through scares too quickly.
It was impacted straight down to 16% on Rotten Tomatoes as of Oct. 15.
“Helluva Boss” finally releases after a long time of waiting!

“Helluva Boss” has finally been released on Prime Video after a long time of waiting. After years of being released on YouTube, it moved to Prime Video. Now it is available as of Oct 14. Season 3 is supposed to be a big chapter in the series, so it is very special to the fans that waited for a while for it. Helluva Boss is about three demons that want to kill humans in the real world. It has many traumatic, laughable, dramatic scenes, and special meanings.
Ben Affleck refers to “Justice League” reshoots as “my career’s low-point”

Ben Affleck said that he thinks of “Justice League” as the low-point of his career on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast. Affleck, who played Batman, said that production of the movie was “doomed” and he had a terrible experience starring in the film.
“Justice League” grossed $661.3 million worldwide.
Glitch Productions greenlit to continue a fan-favorite show

The famed YouTube web-series company, Glitch Productions delivered a new episode of “Knights of Guinevere” after a full year, having released on Oct. 9, 2026. “Knights of Guinevere” is a dystopian series created and released by Glitch on Sep. 19, 2025. With the help of Disney animators and “Owl House” voice actors. It is the first 2-D Glitch series along with “Gameoverse.”
Hopes are high within the fandom, as two fans of the series, PMHS students Benjamin Hammel and Logan Ploski, both anticipate more episodes, with Ploski noting that “...the story seems interesting and the animation looks really good,” and Hammel stating that “...there’s some good writing to it.”
The second episode introduced more adult themes to the story, both fans had different opinions about this, with Ploski stating that “I don’t think it’s something they would do and I don’t really think the community would be happy about it,” and Hammel saying “I think it's the best thing they could've done. I thought it already had an adult theme to it. I honestly thought it already kinda was. But I can totally see it going that route even further.”
Episode three is highly anticipated after the success of episode two. Will Glitch return to their roots of family friendly and non-serious shows? Or will they turn a new leaf and continue making shows pointed towards more mature audiences?
“Resident Evil” Has hit $108.3 million on opening weekend

On Sept. 20, the new movie “Resident Evil,” which was directed by Zach Cregger, was reported to have made $108.3 million worldwide on opening weekend.
“It was Cregger’s biggest start as a filmmaker, surpassing $70 million,” according to a Deadline article. His other top-rated movies are: “Weapons,” “Miss March” and “Barbarians”
Around 66% of the people who have watched “Resident Evil” were men and under 35 were 75%, according to a WTOP News article.
It was first place at the box office; second was “Practical Magic 2” with $76.8 million and third was “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” with $6.5 million.
“The Batman Part II” offers a look at Robert Pattinson’s new costume

An updated costume design has been given to Robert Pattinson who plays Batman in the sequel of the 2022 movie “The Batman.” There have been photo releases of Pattinson in his new costume.

The movie “Elf” is coming to life at NYC’s Rockefeller Center

On Nov. 14, “Elf” fans will be able to watch the 2003 movie live at NYC's Rockefeller Center. The movie “Elf” has been a classic movie for years and is one of the highest-grossing Christmas films ever.
When you arrive at the Rockefeller Center you will be heading to the North Pole to learn about how Elves work to prepare for Christmas Day, and meet some of Santa’s helpers.
Tickets will be available online now with pricing starting at $45 for adults and $35 for kids.
Romantasy soars within the next few months

Two highly anticipated romantasy books, “A Court of Splintered Harmony”, and “Threshing Day” come out soon. “ACOTAR” six is set to be released Oct. 27 while “Threshing Day” releases on Sept. 29. Both of these highly anticipated books will be coming to book stores and releasing online, accessible to fans everywhere.
People on Goodreads and Litsy have insightful commentary on these books. Pennsville Resident Smantha Owens had commentary such as, but not limited to, “I hope it’s good,” and “I like them.” A much more helpful fan of the series, Pennsville Resident Ashley Roberts, states for “The Empyrean” series, “I think it’s very well rounded, it… it grabs your attention and pulls you right in.” These words were in reference to being asked about “Threshing Day,” the latter of the two series’, while Owens’ insightful commentary and opinions were directed towards the former, “A Court of Splintered Harmony.”
Also, Roberts revealed that things about these highly anticipated series’ are being leaked, everyone is already going crazy. Roberts stated, “They leaked something from both books; I didn't look into it, but people are leakin’ stuff about it.”

Sept. 23 was the day for “Aniimo”’s release!

“Aniimo” has finally been released on Androids and IOS! It was released on Sept. 23 as it was already out on Xbox, PC and Playstation 5 on Sept. 16. In the game, you can collect twine and evolve with magical creatures! It sounds like Pokemon but does pokemon allow you to become your pokemon? Does it let you decorate your own home? Does it have PVE and PvP combat or let you solve ancient puzzles and master a truly dynamic gameplay experience?
A lot of people are very excited to play this game. It had a beta gameplay where people could play it as it was being tested. A lot of people fell in love with it, and were so excited for this release.
“DWTS” New Pro: Hailey Bills and her partner eliminated

In just the first week of the “Dancing with the Stars” premiere, Sarah Jane Nader and her partner Hailey Bills were eliminated from the competition.
Last Wednesday, Sept. 16, was the second episode of the premiere, where Nader and her partner danced a Jive to the song “Sk8er Boi” by Avril Lavigne.
Judge Derek Hough critiqued the duo for their Jive, noting how they were “out of sync,” and he felt it “took too long to get into it,” yet there were still “plenty of good moments”.
Some fans of the show shared their opinions on this elimination and partnership.
Sophomore Despina Belitsas said, “I think it was unfair since… it was [Hailey’s] first year, and I think the pro should get, like, two weeks before getting eliminated.” She also thought their partnering was “really cute” and that it was not “weird” for two girls to be paired.
Freshman Frankie Ogbin gave her opinion on the voting. “I feel people voted the way they did because it’s not the general couple, like a boy and a girl, and people don’t like that nowadays for some reason whatsoever.” She also shared her thoughts on the partnering, stating, “They’ve done it before with JoJo Siwa and Jenna, but I feel this is like we are bringing it back… And it was good.”
This past Tuesday, Sept. 22, Giada De Laurentiis and her partner Alan Bersten were the third couple to be eliminated this season. Stay tuned for the next elimination next Tuesday night, Sept. 29.
Iron Maiden’s “Run for your Lives” 50th anniversary tour

UK band Iron Maiden has finally hit 50 years as a metal band.
Iron Maiden has written so many iconic songs over the past 50 years such as, “The Trooper,” “Fear of the Dark,” “Wasted Years,” and “Rime of the Ancient Mariner.”
Take the song “The Trooper” for example, this is one of their earlier songs and a very big hit on music platforms all over the world showed the world a new wave of the harder, thrashy side of overall rock and metal.
Donald Palmucci, the Anti-Bullying Coordinator of PMHS, stated, “They came out when I was 10. Iron Maiden really brought a lot to the table with the harder, harsher, going to the gym type of music.”
Another thing that caught the audience's eyes was their iconic mascot Edward “Eddie” The Head.
Gary Minguez, Math/Geometry teacher at PMHS, stated, “I was always fascinated by how they got their mascot Eddie into all of their albums. As I got older I started to get out of that phase but I always checked out every time they put out a new album to see what Eddie would look like.”
Fun fact: Iron Maiden created Eddie to spice up their live shows.
