This works like a primer for citation. It breaks down each type of citation statute, case, articles and so forth, walking through the components and examples.

This is the link for the Bluebook explanation and break down. However, there are several other articles of interest on this site including examples of legal memorandums, suggestions on how to put together a writing sample (for an interview) and samples of a client letter.

Some information is available here with basic formatting. It provides an introduction to the manual itself allowing students the ability to check it out before they have it.

This is formatted like a primer as well. I particularly like the Basic Layout selection as it can help students locate any kind of information in the Bluebook. This site also includes a list of the updates from the 20th edition, if you have an older version of the text.

This page offers a 4 step process of evaluating a source and using the Bluebook to devise its citation. The Building Citations section is nice too. It seeks to walk the student visually through creating the citation.
