Letter of Recommendation

Request Instructions

Students requesting a letter of recommendation should always include the following information:

Please see below for how to request different types of recommendations.

Program Verification

Students with a program verification form to be filled out by the university should send it to sbs@purdueglobal.edu.

Letter from Instructor

When reaching out to an instructor to request a letter of recommendation, in addition to the general points above, students should specify the purpose of the recommendation letter and attach: at least one of the completed assignments from that instructor’s class and a copy of a current resume

The student should also include the class(es) and term(s) they had with the instructor and refer to the attached assignment(s) to re-familiarize them with the student’s work and writing style.

It is the instructor’s choice whether or not to provide a letter of recommendation.

Letter from Dean's Office

Email sbs@purdueglobal.edu to request a general letter to confirm status as a current or former student in good standing from the Assistant Dean of Students.

Please note that letters from the dean's office cannot identify personal characteristics or skills learned in the classroom.

LSAT or Law School

Requests for law school application recommendation letters should be submitted here: https://applicantreferences.lsac.org/Release/Logon/Access.aspx.

Students should first ask the instructor if they can enter the instructor’s name and email to LSAC so they can electronically complete the recommendation. Please follow the same guidelines as above when reaching out to request permission.

If you’d also like a letter from Assistant Dean of Students Tessa Holst, please feel free to submit her information to LSAC (email address: tholst@purdueglobal.edu). Advance permission is not required.
