Tell us about your background and roles outside of PG.
I studied in Canada and Britain, then taught in schools and universities in Canada and the U.S. Most of my colleagues in education have been female, and most of my students have been female, low income, and people of color.
How does your outside experience help with your role here?
My outside experience helps me as a member of my college's Diversity and Inclusion Action Committee. It also gives me a different perspective on education, which I can share with my students here.
How did you find your way to your career path?
I see the influence of my father -- he lectured at the local law school -- and my grandfather, who has a teacher, a principal and then a professor.
What is your advice to new and/or continuing students?
Ask yourself, "Is now the right time?" If yes, seize the opportunity. If not, mark your calendar and commit to coming back. There is no substitute for university. Don't spoil it.

I am a combat Air Force Veteran and I work for the Department of Veteran Affairs as an Instructional System Specialist and Educationalist.
How does your outside experience help with your role here?
I am 100% involved in education/training with PG and with the VHA. I pride myself in Teaching, Training, Motivating, Inspiring others on a daily basis.
How did you find your way to your career path?
I knew that Education/Training was for me from the first time I saw that my instruction actually helped someone. Although that was over 30 years ago, I still get excited when a student shares with me that I helped them understand a concept that I taught. Knowing that I can help others grow in their professional life makes me proud to be an educator.
What is your advice to new and/or continuing students?
Never stop learning and developing yourself to become the best person that you can be, and if you have questions do not hesitate to ask. We here at PG are available and want to help you succeed.
