BS in Legal Support and Services - Paralegal

What motivated you to want to go to college and Purdue Global in particular?

My family. I previously was enrolled to pursue the same degree but was unable to continue at the time due to circumstances that created roadblocks. I had to get stability within myself first to be able to focus.

What is one challenge you have faced in continuing or completing your studies/degree? How did you overcome that challenge?

Balancing life and school. I am a full time mom of two and work full time as a Case Manager for an Injury Law Firm, and it is very hard trying to balance all at once. I overcome my challenges every day by just being focused and creating time for myself and being committed to my degree.

What was your most positive experience at Purdue Global and why?

Professor Jeffery G. was my most positive experience. He is such a great mentor and teacher, and to have him as someone who will help me progress forward in my career was the best experience.

How has going to college impacted you and your family?

It impacted it positively because I am the only one to have graduated high school and then went to college to pursue law. We can't wait until I graduate.

What advice would you give to first-generation college students thinking about attending Purdue Global?

To stay focused; don't be discouraged. Ask questions. Utilize the resources that are available in the library.
