What motivated you to want to go to college and Purdue Global in particular?

My parents tried to tell me to go to college, however it took maturing and life to allow me to focus on what is important.

What is one challenge you have faced in continuing or completing your studies/degree? How did you overcome that challenge?

The math required. I was skeptical because I was never a strong math student in high school. Math scared me so much that I was the only senior in a freshman math class. I sat down and focused and knew after the first week that I knew how to master any math. All any subject takes is study. If you read the book and pay attention to how your instructor teaches, you cannot fail. All it takes to excel in college is dedication.

What was your most positive experience at Purdue Global and why?

I have never ever had a negative experience in college. I accept all challenges and see nothing I have done in college as negative. Every experience has helped me develop as a student and as a professional. Take every class as a challenge to learn the material, and sometimes you will surprise yourself how much you can learn.

How has going to college impacted you and your family?

I had to prove to my family that could graduate college. I am too old for parents as it is just me now. This meant there was no excuse why I couldn't graduate.

What advice would you give to first-generation college students thinking about attending Purdue Global?

You will be challenged every semester. All you really have to do is a few necessary things. Number 1: Think like you're in your career day one. Number 2: Never forget you are in your career. Number 3: Care about your Career. Number 4: Write it all down as if your career depended upon it.

If you do those four things, they will ask you to be a member of honor societies. That is all I have done to be successful in college, I promise.
