What motivated you to want to go to college and Purdue Global in particular?

I enjoy learning and gaining knowledge. I've always want to obtain my degree, but life has a way of interrupting our plans. Purdue Global offers the EL206 course that maximizes a person's experience equal to college credit.

What is one challenge you have faced in continuing or completing your studies/degree? How did you overcome that challenge?

The biggest challenge I faced was accepting that financially, I would not be able to obtain a master's degree in my preferred field of study. Instead of giving up, I accepted that based on my student assessment and professional experience, I had the experiential knowledge equal to my initial degree plan. I decided to pursue the degree that I could afford for personal achievement.

What was your most positive experience at Purdue Global and why?

My most positive experience is without question the overall support from fellow students, instructors, and my student advisor.

How has going to college impacted you and your family?

It's allowed me to fulfil a personal achievement goal, while encouraging my sons and friends to not be discouraged. Knowledge is power, and to believe in yourself and not to let fear of the unknown derail your dreams.

What advice would you give to first-generation college students thinking about attending Purdue Global?

To pursue your academic goals, and know that you are worth the investment.
