What motivated you to want to go to college and Purdue Global in particular?

My wife - she is a current student and talked to me about the advantages of having a college education.

What is one challenge you have faced in continuing or completing your studies/degree? How did you overcome that challenge?

It has been over 20 years since I had been in school; I had to get used to studying and managing my time between family, school, and work. With the assistance of my wife, I quickly got back into the swing of things.

What was your most positive experience at Purdue Global and why?

My most positive experience at Purdue Global would be interacting with the staff. They are very knowledgeable and eager to assist you with any issues that may arise.

How has going to college impacted you and your family?

Going to college has impacted my family in the most positive way. It has allowed my son (age 14) to think more about his future. Both my wife and son are proud of me, and that feels good. When I finally finish school I will be able to pursue employment with the state I reside in and provide a better lifestyle for my family.

What advice would you give to first-generation college students thinking about attending Purdue Global?

Purdue Global is a great institution; the staff really cares about you, your family, and your future. Things may be hard at first, but do not give up. There will always be someone at Purdue Global who will assist you with whatever issue you may encounter, and the feelings that you have when you reach your goals are unbelievable. And I know this may sound a little cliché, but if I can do it, so can you.
