When working with the site, you will be required to complete on average, 17.5 to 18 hours per week to complete the minimum 175 hours in the ten weeks of the term. Please create and adhere to a schedule set by you and the supervisor. It is advised to schedule all 175 hours prior to beginning the rotation with the site to ensure that you have all hours accounted for, and you may make necessary arrangements for your schedule to accommodate hours completion.
When completing the hours, all hours must be logged in CORE ELMS Hours Tracking. You will need to select your supervisor and log hours regularly. Hours must be logged within 7 days of completion. Hours may not be logged before or after the term dates. Purdue Global can only verify hours that are completed during your practicum courses.
Your supervisor will receive an email each time you log hours to confirm or deny the hours.
If you reside in a state that requires more than 175 hours per PG practicum course, and you are seeking a bachelor's level state licensure, you will need to contact your state to determine the number of hours needed.
If you feel that you may not be able to complete the PS455 Addictions Practicum I prescribed requirements in 10 weeks, you must contact the Clinical Placement Team in order to receive an extension in the course. If an extension is granted, you will enroll in PS455A Addictions Practicum I Extension which will allow you up to 10 extra weeks to complete the requirements of PS455 Addictions Practicum I. Enrollment in these courses will only be granted at the discretion of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
