HB 611 effective on July 1, 2024, stating that when students have 15 UNEXCUSED (UN) absences, they must be sent to court/diversion.
At 3 UN absences, your student's 4th period teacher will be calling home.
At 5 and 10 UN absences, you will be getting a letter in the mail from the school attendance clerk.
At 10 UN absences, a home visit will be made by your FRYSC staff.
At 10+ UN absences, a Family Attendance Meeting will be scheduled with Designated Truancy Contact person.
At 15 UN absences, you will be getting a third habitually truant letter indicating pending court filing, and the Designated Truancy contact person is to make a referral with accompanying checklist, documentation, and supportive referrals for court action.
If you and/or your family has the need for assistance or referrals for service, please call the FRYSC staff at your school immediately.
