After being labeled a PLA (Persistently Low Achieving) school, scoring in the bottom 5% of all high schools in Kentucky, PCHS began its journey toward improvement. With the help of experienced, supportive KDE staff, PCHS was able to implement systems-thinking to revamp the systems and protocols currently in place. Thanks to the work of our Leadership Team, teachers, students, and other stakeholders, PCHS was able to revive our scores to as high as the top 5% in the state. Thus, KDE felt our school would be a good model for other schools in the state to follow. Pulaski County High School was selected as a HUB school in 2013. We are excited to share what has worked for us, in hopes of improving education for students across the state. We also enjoy visits from other schools which allow us to reflect on our systems and tweak them for further improvement.
