Description:
Pulaski County High School (PCHS), one of Kentucky’s Hub Schools, has implemented a unique co-teaching structure to better support their most vulnerable population - students with learning disabilities. Based on research, the leadership team chose a model to place three teachers in the co-teaching classrooms along with strategically scheduled students in order to best combine classroom instruction and intervention in a seamless manner. Within these classrooms, students receive the necessary intervention for deficient skills “just in time” along with standards-aligned instruction that is structured to maximize learning. This session will include a panel discussion with representatives from PCHS to allow participants to learn more about flexible grouping, station teaching, scheduling, and the coaching of teachers.
