Accessing Your PUC Email Account

Every student is issued an email account while enrolled at PUC. This account is one of our official means of campus communication and you should routinely monitor it for important campus information, bulletins, announcements, and updates. While some people may already have or choose to use personal email accounts such as Gmail or me.com, only campus addresses will be used for official college communication. The college will send you emails throughout the summer which may have financial information, your room assignment, pre-orientation tasks, and deadlines, so start checking your PUC email at least once a week.

You can access your PUC email account by going to puc.edu, clicking on the “Quick Links” menu at the top of the page, then on “Webmail.” You can also use an email client program such as Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, or other software to check your mail.

Your PUC account credentials are also used to log in to Canvas, Flashlight, and Abode HMS, as well as give you access to PUC's subscriptions for Microsoft 365 and Google apps and services.

Mobile Phone Service on Campus

Due to PUC's semi-rural location, Verizon and the mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) that use Verizon's wireless network infrastructure are the only carriers that provide mobile phone service that works in Angwin, where PUC is located. If you're not already a customer of a "Big Four" carrier (AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon), you may want to do some research to learn whose network your MVNO uses since it may already provide coverage in Angwin. 

Not being a customer of Verizon or an affiliated MVNO doesn't mean that you have to get a whole new mobile phone and provider. Internet access is available across campus, so using a VoIP (voice over Internet protocol) service such as Google Voice may be an acceptable alternative for phone calls and text messages while on campus. Many of these services are free and have apps that you can use on your current smartphone, but be sure to read the fine print for full detail on potential costs.

What to Bring to the Residence Hall

All residence hall rooms come furnished (bed, dresser, desk, desk chair, and closet). Other residence hall amenities include: 

• • • Twin beds/bunk beds (regular length)

    • Closets and dressers

    • Desks and chairs

    • Carpet (except for portions of Andre Hall and the north wing of Winning Hall) 

    • Wireless internet service

    • Laundry rooms (free laundry)

    • Overhead lighting 

    • Floor community rooms, complete with a kitchenette and television 

    • Mailboxes 

    • Common area cleaning (halls, community bathrooms, and community rooms)

Additional for women's halls:

• Window coverings 

• Suite bathrooms 

Dining & Meal Plans

The PUC Café team is proud to be the onsite restaurant at Pacific Union College. We are known for our culinary expertise and commitment to our campus, our community, and our environment. Understanding PUC’s Meal Plan

If you are living in the residence hall, you will be enrolled in a quarterly-based meal plan of $1,385. This plan covers purchases in the Dining Commons and the Grind, PUC’s beverage bar and mini market in the Campus Center. The standard meal plan offers student approximately 12 meals a week and a few beverages. ​Actual usage will vary depending upon a student’s eating behavior.

For more flexibility, you can add Flex Dollars to your account in increments of $100. Flex Dollars let you enjoy all of the great things about the standard meal plan, plus you will enjoy added perks:

• Upgrade whenever you want. 

• Rollover each quarter. Flex Dollars don’t expire until the end of the school year.

• Flex Dollars allow you to purchase prepared/hot food tax free

Do you need a sick tray or have special dietary requirements that must be met? No problem! Just let us know and we will be happy to work with you to accommodate your situation. For more information, please contact the manager on duty.

Meal Plan Adjustment Requests

Standard meal plans are only reduced in unique cases. Your request must be based on either medical needs or dietary/cultural considerations. Please note, should a meal plan reduction be granted, it will not release you from any other obligations as agreed to in the housing contract. Notes:

• Meal plans for the academic year go into effect on September 21.

• Flex Dollars can be purchased at any time but do expire on the last day of the academic school year, on June 15.

• All meal plan adjustment requests MUST be submitted by October 7. Requests for fall quarter will not be considered after this date.

• Up to $100 dollars of the standard meal plan will roll over from each quarter with all funds surrendered at the end of the spring quarter
