Fusion First-Year Experience
Fusion First-Year Experience
Fusion is PUC's First-Year Experience program for new freshmen that strives to bring together the diverse group of first-year students and support their transition into PUC throughout their first year of college. The program begins with the four-day Fusion Orientation event which is a critical first step for all new students in transitioning to college. Orientation includes opportunities for students to meet faculty and staff, learn about key support resources, connect with other students, and navigate life at PUC before the start of fall quarter. We want to ensure that each PUC student is prepared to be successful academically, socially, and personally.
When fall classes begin, Fusion continues with GNST-101 Frontiers, a course all freshmen take during their first quarter at PUC. Frontiers aims to help students develop tools to successfully navigate life in college and beyond by engaging with PUC's Institutional Student Learning Outcomes, Core Competencies, and their Success Team.
Throughout their first year at PUC, first-year students will also participate in spiritual engagement and social activities exclusively for Fusion students. These are opportunities for them to grow together and reminders that they are not on this journey alone. College can be exciting and challenging and the Fusion program aims to help our first-year students have the best experience possible.

Committed to serving all in their spiritual journey, Campus Ministries creates an environment for students to find faith-filled answers to the big questions of life: Who am I? What are my most deeply felt values? Do I have a mission or purpose in life? Why am I in college? What kind of person do I want to become? What sort of world do I want to create?

Community
Community
Community provides the entire campus a chance to take a break from class and work to gather together as a community. Through a variety of programming including guest and faculty speakers, music, and student-led services, Community enhances fellowship and worship while encouraging individual growth in relationship with God. Community is held in the PUC Church on Thursdays at 10 a.m.

The College offers comprehensive alcohol and substance abuse prevention education that begins at orientation and continues throughout the school year. All students are expected to complete AlcoholEdu, a personalized and interactive online course, prior to the start of the fall quarter. Students will receive a personalized link via their PUC email in August to complete the course.

Local Church Participation
Local Church Participation
While we are deeply committed to worshiping together as a campus community, we also believe it is important for students to worship and serve outside of Pacific Union College. In keeping with this philosophy, we encourage our students to celebrate the Sabbath with one of the more than 60 churches in our local community, the Northern California area, and in their home towns.

Being part of a local church body provides an opportunity for students to not only benefit from the richness of our local congregations, but also to serve those congregations in a variety of roles. Serving in this way blesses those who are receiving and deepens the faith of those who are giving.
