It always begins with trying to find an internship position available somewhere nearby where you live, remotely, or one that requires you to relocate nearer to your worksite. We have all been there before. In the past when I was inexperienced and trying to find an internship I usually typed into Google, "Engineering Internships Summer 20XX". While it did always pop up a lot of options, it generally was quite difficult to navigate to the source and even when you did sometimes the listing would no longer be active as it was finished. With these frustrations I set out to find a good site that could reliably help me find these openings and submit my applications for them. That is when I stumbled across the site ManufacturingJobs.com.
ManfacturingJobs.com is a website that functions as a Job board that is mainly dedicated towards finding positions in the Manfacturing sector of the industry. It offers job seekers such as college students, the ability to search for internships, co-ops, or full-time roles in several companies. The website has jobs posted from the United States and countries across the Globe, so if you are an international student, it is still very useful for you if you have to go back to your home country in the Summer. The website also allows you to sort by location, company, and postdate and filter by workplace type (on-site, hybrid, remote) and States. Overall, it is a very useful job listing that will definitely help in finding the right internship for you!
When you click the link to go to the site, you will land on the home page. From there it would be helpful, not a requirement, to create an account with your personal or school email so that it grants you the ability to bookmark job listings you are interested in and recommend you similar ones you selected.
TIP 1:
Now on to the most important part of this site's function, trying to find a job. In order to find a job on the home page, hover with your mouse (or if you are on mobile, tap) over the "Job Seekers" tab and select "Job Search".
TIP 2:
From here since we are interested in manufacturing internships type in the search bar "manufacturing internship", then type into the location bar the major city you live in, state or country (it should pop up in a few seconds). Now before, hitting the search button you can click the filter button which is just to the right of the search button and from here you can filter by workplace type and state. Once you have determined the filter options click search and the jobs that match that title description will appear. You can tell how many jobs there are on the "All Jobs" section under the search bar. From here you can sort the job listings based on title, Location, company, and time posted.
TIP 3:
Now, click on a position you find interesting. From here it will open the complete job description listing out details about the company, accountabilities, qualifications, benefits and the JobID. If you want to bookmark this listing all you need to do is click on the bookmark icon the top right and it will save it to your account.
In addition, it will typically list on the bottom the website to go to find the original job post and from there all you need to do is copy the job id and paste it into the company website and it will direct you to apply there.
