About Ben:  Ben is a junior majoring in Industrial Engineering with a minor in Physics from Ellicott City, Maryland. He studied abroad in Wellington, New Zealand, where he was an exchange student at The Victoria University of Wellington. While studying there, he took courses in physics, engineering, and even one on the history of New Zealand. He made close friends with other international students as well as many Kiwis from across New Zealand, gaining firsthand experience of what life and culture are like for native New Zealanders. During his time in New Zealand, he explored many parts of the North and South Islands, including a journey across the length of the South Island on his moped. He also got the chance to visit Hobbiton, the movie set for The Lord of the Rings. He chose to become a peer adviser because he wants to help other students have a similarly unique and fulfilling study abroad experience. 

Advice to Prospective Education Abroad Students: Making the choice to travel to another country and study there can be a daunting undertaking, but taking that leap of faith comes with so many rewards. From learning about different cultures and ways of life to making connections with people from all across the globe. I am excited to help students at all steps throughout the process, especially those who are worried that doing an exchange program would be too much paperwork compared to other programs.
